PICASSO. Faun. Centaur. Minotaur

Centro Cultural Fundación Bancaja. January 2013

Picasso's relationship with classical mythology is well-known. A small but important collection of works by Picasso is presented where the protagonists are, apart from the artist himself, the faun, a centaur and the minotaur, themes that are represented in the exhibition discourse. The exhibition includes a video on the Picasso Minotauromaquia print (1935) and the projection of the ballet La siesta del fauno (performed by Rudolf Nureyev in New York on March 1, 1979, with the choreography by Vaslav Nijinsky and music by Claude Debussy) premiered in Paris in 1912.

In the room, a set of color plans in two different shades and heights, dictates the positioning of the pieces.
