Andy Warhol

Superstar

Centro Cultural Fundación Bancaja. 2013

The exhibit features a thematic breakdown, sixty two screen prints of the artist spanning his entire career, from 1962, from The Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh.

In the first area a recreation of Warhol's studio, the Factory, has been done by covering the walls with a sheet of tin foil and making a large couch that was once there.

There is a nod to the audience with the screening of Screen Tests, which are movies made by Warhol, with a fixed camera in front of some well-known visitor to his studio (Bob Dylan, Nico ...). The Screen Tests are projected opposite the couch and a camera, live, films the seated visitor. The viewer therefore observes two screens: on one the Screen Test, and on the other, he sees himself sitting on Warhol’s couch, being both the audience and star of the exhibition.
