Jorge Ballester, memory and prospective

The exhibition presents the work of Jorge Ballester from the 70s, when he was part of Equipo Realidad, until today. The exhibition discourse is divided into four sections: The Aftermath of Reality, Cubist uchronias, Identity Cards and Dear Monsters. Sketches, drawings, paintings, sculptures and audiovisual media concentrate the intellectual and aesthetic approaches of the artist. The critical moment happens when we are invited to walk around inside a three-dimensional still life, on a monumental scale, which cannibalises Cubist uchronia, finally, the architectural magnitude of time. It does so through an object-container-place of real space, which incorporates us both physically and mentally, in such a way that we dissolve from a state of passive beings and become transformed into active objects.
